I can’t believe it’s been two months since my last post. How pathetic. It’s been a rough spring but hopefully things are looking up now that summer is here. As testament to that, my girl G and I had fun in North Beach last night, starting at Vesuvio’s and ending at Broadway Showgirls, a strip club a few steps down the street. It was the first time we’d been to that club and we thought it was pretty nice. The dancers were beautiful and natural, and I reveled in the absence of pneumatic breasts. Dancer Elizabeth gave us a lapdance together which was a first for us, and she got us both pretty hot and bothered.

That said, whenever I go to a strip club (which is probably about once a year), I always leave wishing for a very different sort of experience, and last night’s adventure was no exception. I’d like something less expensive for one thing. It cost us $30 to get in the door as a couple and beers were $7.50 each. I always tip the dancers generously and don’t mind spending good money on dances, but I resent getting gouged by the house. Also I’d like a more artsy, creative, performance oriented club: less guido, more Burning Man, not so damn generic, with good music and DJs. Something like The Blue Angel Cabaret in NYC: http://www.alicubi.com/nycrfd/nycrfd_06.html. Why can’t there be a club like Blue Angel here in San Francisco? Last month G and I went to a burlesque show at a bar in the Mission. That was cheap and really fun, but NOT very sexy I’m sorry to say. I want a place that fills that wide void between burleque and strip club. I think it would a big hit in SF. I’d open it myself if I knew anything about running a club.
